The Island Hunt Pony Club Camp 2021: 12th – 16th July

Update: Pony Camp Week has moved to the second week in July: from Monday the 12th to Friday the 16th.

Depending on Covid 19 protocol we now provisionally plan to have Pony Camp from the 12th to the 16th of July this year, by kind permission of Felicity & Maurice Cousins in Barnadown, Gorey, Wexford.

The annual Pony Club Summer Camp is one of the clubs main events of the year.

**IMPORTANT REMINDER**: All ponies need to have their Vaccinations up to date and recorded on their passports. Please check the downloads section on the Irish Pony Club website for a complete list requirements, our website or here below. Please check your vaccinations now.

Bookings and deposits will be taken for camp from next week through itsplainsailing.

Pre-Camp rallies will take place on Wednesday evenings in June, also in Barnadown.

Time to start getting the ponies fit and ready for what will be a week full of fun and learning.

Islands Training ODE – COVID 19 Protocol Reminder

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday the 19th of September in Frankfort Stud for our Training ODE.

Please remember that strict COVID 19 Protocols must be adhered to by everyone throughout the day.

All riders and grooms must have completed the Contact Tracing Form” on itsplainsailing before Friday evening in order to gain entry to the ODE.

Strictly no spectators or visitors allowed. Cars with more than one person per rider will be turned away.

Please park 5 M apart and maintain social distancing of 2 M as per current recommended guidelines.

All competitors and grooms must wear face masks.

We ask that you do not arrive at the venue before 8:30 am.

Islands Training ODE – Numbers/Times.

Please find below the final dressage times for the Island Hunt Pony Club Under 10, Novice Under 10 and Novice Under 12 ODE taking place at Frankfort Stud, Gorey, Co. Wexford, on Saturday 19th September 2020.

Please remember the following:

  • It will be a busy day so try to keep to your times and move promptly from one discipline to the next. 
  • Print or write your number clearly and bring your own bib.
  • Strict Covid protocols will be adhered to by everyone throughout the day.  All riders and grooms will have completed the contact tracing on itsplainsailing.  No spectators allowed.  Cars arriving with more than one person per rider will be turned back.
  • Please ensure you park 5 meters apart.
  • All competitors and grooms need to have face masks.
  • Do not arrive at the venue before 8.30 am
  • There are no refreshment facilities on the day, please bring your own.
  • Please arrive in time to walk the courses during the allocated course walk time
  • We are running an express format. All three phases must be completed in your XC gear, full tack inspection will be held before dressage, including your back protector and crash helmet. Ensure you have everything with you as you will not be allowed to return to your box.  Riders will go directly to tack inspection at the Dressage arenas, do their test, go to jumping warm up, then to Showjumping arena and then directly to cross country arena.
  • There will be an instructor in both of the jumping arenas.  You may or may not choose to get assistance or feedback from the instructors.  They are there to help.
  • All results will be posted online and winner’s rosettes and prizes will be posted out.
  • This day is all about learning and having fun for our young and new members
