A huge thank you again to the Kearney family for hosting the event at Frankfort Stud.

Island Successes at IPC Showjumping Festival, Pure Dressage and Combined Training Events

Congratulations to the John Ledingham Team ” The Mighty Islands” who came 1st place in the the IPC Festival in Barnadown. The team included Angelica McGee, Lauren Spencer, Emma Carton and Ava Dowley. Also the John Ledingham Island Flyers Cassey McDonald, Kerri McDonald , Brooke Carey and Noah Furlong put in a fantastic performance.

Also congratulations to the U12 Alice Mernagh team the “Island Stars”, Caoimhe Spacey, Alexandra Cassidy, Laoise Mellon and Brendan Noctor who took second place on the day. The “Island Unicorns” team including Lucy Bailey, Kate Jones, Rosie Bailey and Kayla Brennan, also gave a fine performance for the U12’s.

Well done to Alison Dunne came 3rd in the Combined Training event and the Pure Dressage team who came 4th place included Millie McBride, Lauren Spencer, Sophie Orr and Clodagh O’Dowd.

Great success for the club this year. Congratulations everyone and well done.

All parents and competitors are reminded of Covid 19 protocols and IPC Code of Behaviour and that all volunteers on the day must be treated with respect.

Scoring queries may be lodged only by Branch DC’s or Branch Official as specified by the Island Hunt pony club online entry form.

Results will be posted online (due to Covid 19). Dressage sheets will be posted to club DC’s following the event.

Changes to scores will not be made afterwards.

Day 1 – Island Pony Camp 2021

Day 1 of Pony Camp got off to a flying start with approx. 75 riders taking part. Ponies were all looking great and ready for a packed week of fun and learning in the fabulous venue of Barnadown. Dressage, Cross Country, Show Jumping and Stable Management were all part of todays activites with our highly experienced instructors.

A special visit by the Garda Mounted Unit and the Island Hunt Hounds made the day even more exciting for the riders.

Area 4 Festival Show Jumping Qualifiers

Wednesday 21st July 2021

All entries must be made online on itsplainsailing.

Entries close on Sunday the 18th of July at 8pm for ALL competitions.

STRICTLY NO LATE ENTRIES. Strict COVID protocols in place.

All Classes open to Area 4 members ONLY.

Horses/ponies MUST be entered using their name exactly as it appears on their passport.

Alice Mernagh Team Show Jumping – Riders must over 8 yrs and U12 yrs on the 1st of Jan 2021 and be of D+ test standard, Max Height 80cm.

Robbie Bailey Team Show Jumping – Riders must be U14 yrs on the 1st of Jan 2021 and be of C-test standard, Max Height 90cm.

John Ledingham Team Show Jumping – Riders must be over 12 yrs and be U21 yrs on the 1st of Jan 2021 and must have passed their C-test, Max Height 1m.

Senior Team Show Jumping Competition – Riders must be over 12 yrs and U23 yrs on the 1st of Jan 2021 and must have passed their C-test, Max Height 1.15m

Senior Individual Show Jumping Competition – Riders must be over 12 yrs and U23 yrs on the 1st of Jan 2021 and must have passed their C-test, Max Height 1.15m

Congratulations to our Members on passing the C – Test

Huge congratulations to Caoimhe Spacey, Alison Dunne, Isabell Walsh, Susan O’Brien, April O’Connor, Zoe Poole and Alexandra Cassidy on passing their C-Test this week.

Thank you to Alma Byrne (Instructor) and Christine Byrne from Butterfly Farm Equestrian, Camolin, Co Wexford for their commitment and hard work. Also a huge thank you to the event organiser, Marie McDonald.

Both Members and Instructors have been working very hard over the past few months in preparation for the test and we are delighted to see that they all passed successfully.

Well done again and thank you to everyone involved.

The Island Hunt Pony Club Camp 2021: 12th – 16th July

Update: Pony Camp Week has moved to the second week in July: from Monday the 12th to Friday the 16th.

Depending on Covid 19 protocol we now provisionally plan to have Pony Camp from the 12th to the 16th of July this year, by kind permission of Felicity & Maurice Cousins in Barnadown, Gorey, Wexford.

The annual Pony Club Summer Camp is one of the clubs main events of the year.

**IMPORTANT REMINDER**: All ponies need to have their Vaccinations up to date and recorded on their passports. Please check the downloads section on the Irish Pony Club website for a complete list requirements, our website or here below. Please check your vaccinations now.

Bookings and deposits will be taken for camp from next week through itsplainsailing.

Pre-Camp rallies will take place on Wednesday evenings in June, also in Barnadown.

Time to start getting the ponies fit and ready for what will be a week full of fun and learning.
